WELL THE VERY first thing you'll need to do is to buy a few inexpensive pieces of equipment. You'll need a few syringes, some latex tubing, syringe caps, vial caps and some silicone oil.

IF YOU ARE going to use the equipment for demonstrations, you'll need about 5 syringes, 40 cm tubing, 10 syringe caps, 10 vial caps, and a bottle of syringe oil. All together, it will cost you less than $25. If you are buying enough for the whole class, the cost will be around $100 for 20 students. Helpful advice and more information is given in the section on Ordering Gas Stuff.

You should also buy either our gas chemistry book, Microscale Gas Chemistry, from Educational Innovations or The Chemistry of Gases, A Microscale Approach, from Flinn.

ALL THE DETAILS are spelled out in the section on Ordering Gas Stuff. Educational Innovations sells worldwide and Flinn sells in the USA only. Both provide excellent support for Microscale Gas Chemistry! Buy their stuff! Other vendors including S17 Science Supplies and Micromole carry our books and equipment. Buy stuff from them, too.
